I have always enjoyed, the wonder of God’s creation.  I love flowers and how they are so different. I love the colors of sunrises and sunsets and the variations of clouds.  The mountains, rivers, lakes, oceans and waterfalls are so beautiful and look different during the changing seasons.  Thus my inspiration in painting comes from nature!

My husband, Jim, and I had a busy and wonderful life raising our eight children.  After our last child graduated from High School I decided that I wanted to explore painting.  So I checked out books from the library on watercolor first and gave it a try.  Then I explored acrylic painting.  I am basically self taught.  I have taken classes in watercolor, colored pencil, acrylic and oil painting.  I took classes for Senior Citizens in drawing for several years with a local Jr. college.  We explored graphite, charcoal, pastels, colored pencils, watercolor pencils, and ink.

When I joined AAIE about 8 years ago, I was fascinated with all the demonstrations from local artists.  I enjoyed meeting so many wonderful artists and got many good ideas from them.  I am now a part of Saddleback Art League in Mission Viejo.  They also have demonstrations.

My favorite medium is Oil.  I love how it blends so well and looks so rich on the canvas.  I also do some acrylic and really enjoy all the other mediums.  I have fun teaching our grandkids how to use pastels and colored pencils as well as painting.
