DESCRIPTION:Sonya’s art favors the African American figure. Her objective is to create images that reflect diversity\, Strength and beauty of people of color. Her developed style transcends the boundaries of color as well. Through her art\, she strives to Uplift the black face to  become a recognizable face with a vocabulary that  speaks a language everyone understands and enhances a rich conversation with the viewer.\nIn addition\, she creates clothing that incorporates her art and voice for pieces that empower\, encourage and inspire.\nSonuy’s educational background includes a BFA from MSU and an AA from the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising in Los Angeles.
